Santa Barbara, CA – “Surf Shack Chic” Overview

In this Tiny House Nation episode, competitive surfers Amber and Tommy outlined that they dreamed of a tiny home loft with easy access to the Pacific Ocean. Previously the young couple lived in a 2,000 Sq. Ft. guest cottage at Tommy’s parents’ house.

After deciding they wanted to move out and live in their first home together, the young couple became discouraged searching for a reasonably priced home in Santa Barbara. That’s when they decided that they wanted to downsize to stay close to their second home: the ocean.

For their custom high-end mobile surf shack, Amber and Tommy requested that the tiny home have the following:

  • Storage space for their 10 surf and paddle boards
  • Loft on the second floor
  • Deck for entertainment
  • One full-sized bathroom
  • One staircase
  • Modern yet beachy surf shack on wheels
